Sunday eliminations were halted before opening ceremonies could begin at the Thunder Valley Dragbike Shootout in Bristol Tennessee. Just as competitors were finishing up the 2nd shakedown run of the morning a storm formed which looks to be fierce. A lot of rain came down, however Bristol Dragway track officials fired up the track drying equipment and began to dry the track surface as soon as the storm passed.
The down time gave the Dragbike Live film crew time to relax and shoot the video below. How about 2.5 hours in 1 .5 minutes! The shadows on the pavement is actually rain in the beginning.
Racing is just about ready to get back under way here at local time 2:12 pm eastern standard time. Track officials announced that due to the massive amount of water the fell in a short time competitors will be competing on the 1/8 mile surface only due to track seepage on the top end.
