As first announced during an episode of The Doug & Rich Show which air’s on Sunday nights on Dragbike Live.com, Larry “Spiderman” McBride has been working closely as a rider with OOC (Orange County Choppers) and the American Chopper tv series in development of the all electric drag bike.
The American Chopper episodes were filmed a few months ago with part one of the a two part series on TLC (The Learning Channel) to begin airing this Thursday night at 9pm eastern time. The second show of the two part series is scheduled to be televised at 11pm eastern standard time October 7th 2010.
Larry “Spiderman” McBride piloted the 363 volt, 4000 amp electric bike to a 7.469, 177 MPH pass at Virginia Motorsports Park in Richmond Virginia, his home town track. The bike, which is owned by Shawn Lawless (owner of Lawless Industries) was built at Orange County Choppers, puts out over 600 horsepower, contains an electric DC Drive System, a GE 13 inch Motor and 1,980 A123 Battery Cells. photo courtesy aaron equipment.
According to McBride his involvement with the Orange County Choppers Crew may go further in the future. Can you say Top Fuel Drag Bike build?
