NHRA: Coffman Tank Trucks Buell takes 8th position after first day qualifying during O’Reilly Auto Parts Nats/Zmax Dragway
Charlotte, Friday: Angie Smith was all smiles following Friday’s first two qualifying sessions for Sunday’s O’Reilly Auto Parts Nationals at zMax Dragway. She drove the Coffman Tank Trucks V-Twin Pro Stock Motorcycle to solid 7.013-and7.037-second elapsed times and was eighth overall.
“We made two awesome runs with a lot of my family and friends in the stands,” she said. “I’m very happy. The 7.013 should guarantee us a starting spot on Sunday. It could have been quicker but the engine shut off 6.7 seconds into the run.
“This is our home track, so it’s very satisfying to come back after not qualifying at Indianapolis two weeks ago. We’ll find out what our problem was and be ready for two more runs Saturday.” story courtesy of NHRA /photos Dragbike Live
