MiRock:Teasley declares war! Shocks the world with NOS at The Rock!!

Jeremy TeasleyJeremy Teasley declared war on the turbocharged bike’s in the MiRock Super Bike Series Orient Express Pro Street Class Saturday night 8/21/2010 during the Schnitz Summer Sizzler held at Rockingham Dragway in Rockingham, North Carolina.

Teasley, running a nitrous oxide assisted Kawasaki ZX14 Ninja in a heavily dominated turbocharged powered class made history clocking a 7.195 elapsed time at 194.91 miles per hour at the stripe thus taking the #1 qualifying position. Pro Street motorcycles are street legal non wheelie bar motorcycles with a extended wheelbase are are allowed 1 power adder, nitrous oxide or supercharge/turbocharger.

Turbochargers have dominated the class since 2002 in what was previously largely a nitrous oxide dependent class. Since the “turbo take over” began  most teams either faded away or switched their combination to accommodate the new technology. Crew Chief  for the Roger Starrett Racing team Coby Adams of Adams Performance said “I was tired of seeing turbos and wanted to do something different, that is basically our real street engine with a different clutch setup”.

Heated discussions have erupted over the year’s as questions were raised if a nitrous oxide assisted engine could even perform at  levels needed to compete with the turbocharged platforms much less beat them. This debate may have just been settled.

Electronic fuel injection coupled with stages of  dry nitrous and electronic engine management systems that would make any  computer nerd nervous are the norm now for nitrous platforms. This may be a far cry from carburetor/NOS injected engines of 10 years ago but the royal blood line still exist in the hearts of many fans.  Teasley and Adams are upsetting the balance of power this season with back to back class wins along with record setting performance and serving notice that the green color on this ZX14 doesn’t mean they are new and do not know what they are doing. Line up beside them, they will show you better than they can tell you!

Our Dragbike Live.com film crew was on location filming the event and captured the exclusive video and we interviewed Teasley and got his thoughts when he watched the footage of this historic pass .
