The first race of a new Fast By Gast MIROCK SuperBike Series season is always a special time.
From new machines to old rivalries to rookies trying to make a name for themselves, the first event at Rockingham always starts out with a bang.
However for 2012, Rockingham Dragway will add another first to the series.
Since 2005, MIR announcer Fabian Brown has been calling races and entertaining fans and racers alike.
From Junior Dragsters to Top Fuel and everything in between, this young veteran has seen it all.
However, he will step into the booth at Rockingham Dragway for the very first time to announce the Honda Suzuki of Sanford Spring Bike Open.
Rockingham Dragway lost it’s legendary voice of “Big” John Levine.
When asked about announcing the first MIROCK event at The Rock, Fabian couldn’t be happier to accept the invitation.
“To get the call from Steve Earwood was truly a moment I will never forget.
I never personally got to meet Big John, but I have heard so many wonderful things about him and it will truly be an honor and privilege to step behind the microphone that he used for many years.
I owe a lot of credit to Jason and Royce Miller for hiring me back in 2005 and making my dream come true.
I promise to do my best to carry on the traditions of John and to make him proud.”
The Honda Suzuki of Sanford Spring Bike Open kicks off with a Friday night test and tune at 6pm.The action gets underway Saturday morning with Sportsman time runs and qualifying beginnning at 10am.
