Psychobike.com has been purchased by VerticalScope Inc.  VerticalScope,  a corporation based out of Canada and the same company that owns the Motorcycle Forum Network and host of a number of enthusiast website.

Franks Adams, former owner, founder of Psychobike.com released the following statement.

“I’m sad and happy to inform you that after 12yrs of a lot of hard work I sold the Psychobike domain last week. I agreed up front with the buyer to not discuss the sale of the site until after all the details were worked out. Now my decision to sell didn’t happen over night either. After being approached to sell it took the better part of a week before I would consider to sell. At first I would only focus on reasons why I shouldn’t sell it.

I later began to pay more attention to what the new buyer could bring to Psychobike as a company and it was then I realized the new buyer could take Psychobike to a level that I would be unable to. I actually put a lot of research into the new company on who they were and how they could benefit the website and our member’s.

My results were I knew if I was ever to let go of Psychobike, this was the time and people I needed to do it with. The new owner’s of Psychobike is verticalscope.com. Now since agreeing to sell, I have had a chance to get to know some of the Vertical Scope team better and my opinion of them is that they are a good bunch of people that are no doubt dedicated to doing what they do.

Up to this point I have dealt with around six different people and they all seem like nice people that know what their doing. In talking with them they have assured me for the most part nothing will change for how we do things. They have transferred the site over to their servers, and everything appears to be running smooth with no glitches.

Even though I sold Psychobike I will not be going anywhere. I plan to stay around at least a year doing things just as I have. On the flip side the bonus will be I will have some much needed help. Which will be the type of help I have always wanted on this website, as well as free up some time for me. The Vertical Scope crew will be able to take care of the technical support and financial parts of the site.

My predictions based on my decision to sell to Vertical Scope, is that Psychobike will possibly grow double in size as per how many members we currently have. That’s a bonus for all! I’m sure we’ll see new vendors with new banners and such on the site, but overall nothing will really change. Psychobike will always be the #1 Motorcycle Drag Racing website bar none.”

Helena Barclay of Vertical Scope  indicated that nothing major will change on the popular motorcycle drag racing site other than minor changes in plug ins and sponsors advertisements.

Speaking for Vertical Scope, Helena Barclay the spokes person put out a memo ont the website to all member of the website and  said,

As you have read above we are now the proud owners of psychobike.com. I would like to start out with letting you all know that we are not here to close this site or change this community; we are here to help improve the functionality of the site and help it grow to a new level.

We have a great team of tech support that is here to fix any functional issues you have with the site, and help keep the site updated and working. I am here whenever you need help with anything, or if you have a question or concern. With that I would like you all to know that this is still YOUR community and we are here to work with the community and the existing staff to keep this site a place for you to come and feel at home. We have no intention of changing anything major.

The ads may change a little since we have a wider network. And you will more then likely get some new vendors and site sponsors. Maybe some better plug in’s but nothing you don’t want. On the other hand if you guys do want to see something changed of added to the site, just ask.”

A screen shot of the company’s corporate website indicates the size and scope of VerticleScope and indicating that advertising and exposure is big in the company’s portfolio.

Congrats Frank -did vertical scope know that you banned close to 30 members and a few site sponsors before selling — and does vertical scope get the money that you ahve been begging members to donate to help the site or did that go to your new site you have been building and just launched?????
