FIRST REPORTS: VULCAN BIKE ANNOUNCES THEY DONT HAVE MONEY!

Reports coming out of Steele Alabama’s Alabama International Raceway where the Vulcan Bike Week and Thunder on The Mountain race is being held are indicating an announcement
just came down at the Alabama International Raceway the promoters of Vulcan Bike Week which move the event to Alabama International Raceway from Birmingham after city officials shut the event down and event promoters move the event 40 miles away to Steele Alabama virtually overnight. officials at the track’s event have announced the $90,000 purse WILL NOT BE MET!
Tensions are rising at the track, last reports 30 bikes showed up for the event and current negotiations are to arrange $4000 race for today’s activity’s.
The $90,000 race was scheduled to kick off today at 4 pm central standard time.

John Gibson Sr. announced he could not honor the advertised GUARANTEED purse of $90,000 as of 4.45cst at Alabama International Raceway to a group of 10 plus entrants that entered the event’s top paying classes.
Reports coming out of track are gate money, reportedly between $1500 and 2000 dollars on top of winner take all entry fees (if any are even there) are being negotiated for a for a winner take all purse to try and complete the event. Gibson said he just didn’t have the money to pay out. Wasn’t this GUARANTEED!?

UPDATE: 5.40pm est Saturday
Reports are tensions are rising! Tempers are flaring. The track owner has offered free tickets to all spectators free tickets next event, a 10.5 Outlaw class event at the track to try and calm down tensions.
Reports are The Birmingham News, and other mainstream media is reported to be outside gates filming through the fence.
All media has been refused entry!
A news press conference is scheduled for a later date, but no time has been announced. No word if local authorities have been dispatched to the track.

People are very angry, very angry!! promoter has sent for some amount of money but no one has returned as of yet.
8 bikes entered the Grudge class, $1000 each some type of race is trying to be organized.
apparently some one shot off fireworks/ bottle rockets and people scattered and ducked behind cars…
local news media is at gate interviewing racers as they leave. Promoters of the event cannot be found…not at the track at this time…
people are asking “where’s the $25,000!….the city of Birmingham gave the event!”
People/racers are standing around waiting at the track to see if a race is going to get started

Dragbike Live has confirmed that G Entertainment LLC officials (the promoters) fled the event facility hours ago!
Track officials have put together some kind of race tonight for racers that remained. $90,000 reduce to a $1700.00 race! Purse is now $1700.00 but this is an good faith effort by track owners(not promoters) to give racers something to race for.
Police has shown up at track and are inside the gate!

$1700.00 was paid out to 3 individual winners of the 3 classes the track owners scrambled to put a race together for everyone that showed up and salvage a race after G Entertainment LLC fled the event grounds.
Track has officially closed as of 10.00pm cst

Same ole crap. Offering big money hoping huge return then don’t want to pay up when not as many people entered as they figured.This is the second turd to do this. Promoters need to be held acountable for there so called “garanteed” purses. They will never get anybody to the next one for fear of the same thing. I will have to look up in the dictionary and see how many meanings there are for garanted
I don’t think this reflects badly on the bikers who have apparently done no wrong, but it speaks volumes about the stupidity and corruption of our elected officials.
I was afraid of this! This is very sad for the motorcycle dragrace community. We really need positive and not negative messages sent about our sport. These type of situations are what make it difficult to get quality sponsors.
