The Mickey Thompson Tires MIROCK Superbike Series is headed to Maryland International Raceway for the last MIROCK event of the year at MIR at the Fast by Gast Superbike Finals on October 2-3, 2010. The event will feature the Turbo vs. Nitrous Pro Comp Class, 200mph Orient Express Pro Street class, HTP Performance Real Street, FBR Shop Quick 32, House of Speed Crazy 8's, Fast by Gast Pro ET, and Schnitz Racing Street ET classes. The event will also include Grudge Racing on Saturday and Sunday with the "Afterdark Underground" 2-hour grudge program on Saturday night after ET eliminations. The event will also host a vendor midway both days full of motorcycle parts, apparel, and motorcycles. Plus, on Sunday MIR will host a $1,200 bikini contest. So, head to Maryland International Raceway for an exciting weekend of motorcycle racing!

Starting on July 17-18th at MIR, records will now be broken down to a separate turbocharged records and separate nitrous injected records for each heads-up class. All records must be backed up by 1% on the same weekend during qualifying or eliminations only. ET records points are only awarded to the overall ET record of the class (ET Record points are not given to both Turbocharged & Nitrous Injected entries). There are no points given for MPH records.

We have done the record points this way, so there is no change in the points system from what was originially from the beginning of the season. This is merely done to recognize the different combination records in each class.

We will have the gates open this Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm (you can come in during that time to park and buy your weekend tickets and tech cards). The gates will close at 5:00pm sharp because we have an employee shift change and prepare the track for Friday Night's Test & Tune. Once again the gates will close at 5:00pm sharp whether your already in line or not so plan accordingly, please dont show up at 4:59pm and expect to get in the gate if they is someone in line in front of you.)

Between 5:00pm-6:30pm the gates will be closed and nobody gets in, you will need to wait in line.

The gates will then re-open at 6:30pm for the Friday Night Test & Tune (you can park and buy your weekend tickets and tech cards).

The gates will close at 11:30pm sharp on Friday Night. Nobody will be permitted to come in and park after that. If you arrive after 11:30pm then you will need to wait in line until the gates open on Saturday morning.

If anyone is coming in to just drop off a trailer and leave, you will still need to purchase Friday Night tickets ($10 each) at the gate and you will have 30 minutes to come in drop off your trailer and be back at the pit gate for a refund. Each ticket has the time printed on them and that refund is only good for 30 minutes. Dont go hang out in the pits and talk to all your friends if you would like a refund. Keep it under 30 minutes.

We have to have a procedure and I hope everyone feels this is fair. See everyone this weekend at MIR for the "BIKE FEST"!!!

The Christian Motorcycle Association is joining the MIROCK events at MIR. They will have their CMA riders volunteering in the pits and staging lanes with tents and water coolers providing water for free out of coolers for the MIROCK racers. These locations will be in addition to the tent and water coolers behind the starting line that MIR has been doing already. These locations will be great for riders and crew in the staging lanes to cool off and stay hydrated during their wait in the staging lanes.

This will start with the MIROCK "Bike Fest" on July 17-18

Dean Clutts from CMA has put this together and we are currently working on a chapter for the ROCK events as well (still in the works though for the ROCK).

When you see a CMA member at MIROCK be sure to thank them for their help. They are great people. A lot of you might remember them from some of the Prostar days when they would help out there as well.
